Rural Clinics Powered By Solar In Madagascar
One of the biggest reasons I am an advocate of solar and other alternative energy technology is because developing and under developed countries do not need modern electrical infrastructure in order to have power. The energy can be created cleanly and can unobtrusively integrate into a society so they can have access to modern medicine and care. The solar panels, as opposed to gas generators, do not add extra noise and gasoline costs to an already poor situation. So far, 27 clinics have been equipped with the solar panels at a total cost of $700,000…money well spent.
