An Italian company, Tazzari, has taken a significant step towards resolving one of the biggest drawbacks on electric vehicles…recharging. The company claims that the Tazzari Zero will be able to get a full charge in just 45 minutes. Although not clarified, it will probably be from a 220v outlet.

The upcoming Chevy Volt will reportedly charge in under 3 hours with a 220v outlet, and similarly the Tesla Roadster will charge in about 3.5 hours. Although the Zero charges much quicker, the Tesla has much better performance and range with sub 4-second 0-60 time, a 125 MPH top speed and a range of 200 miles. The Zero, although presumably much less expensive, will be capable of hitting 56 MPH, with a range of 93 miles.

Just from the initial image of the car, it looks like the back end of a Lotus mixed with a Mini Cooper.
